What we have been doing this week....

Reception have had a very exciting week spending a day celebrating the Queen’s 90th birthday with lots of royal activities including decorating their cakes for their tea party and making their own crowns.  The next day the children visited Twycross Zoo where they enjoyed meeting plenty of animals and birds from all over the world.

As part of Science Week, Reception children became scientists on Thursday morning!  Mrs Dean led a fantastic day of science workshops where the hall was filled with all sorts of investigations and discoveries.  The children took part in all of the activities making fantastic links with scientific concepts such as pressure, magnetism and gravity.

This week the children have enjoyed activities related to the traditional tale ‘Little Red Riding Hood’.  They have been acting out the story in role play and we had a very bad wolf!  Reception have also taken part in their first football coaching session which was great fun.
